As The Band Played

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon As The Band Played.

Children played without worry, diners ate outside even though we are pretty certain the sun further cooked their food – and us. We armed ourselves with popsicles, yogurt, cold water and good conversation. We saw a wedding, the bride’s gorgeous dress stood stark against the green grass and trees.  We watched the band enter, set up and throw wonderful music into the air.  We went over to meet the members and received an unexpected and lovely invitation from the lead singer, Joshua Daniels, of Joshua Daniels and the Dangerous.  The city has a rich history of country, folk, soul, and roots music. We walked away back to our Sunday crew and continued to have a great time as the band played. Before we knew it, it was 9 o’clock – and the sun was still in the sky. This is one of the reasons we love summer, the sun shines on into the “night” hours and we can play and play and play!

Liz, It really was a great time! Local musicians are like sneak peeks, the bud of possibly something big to happen! Plus, they play so hard, they are wonderful to listen to.
