Simply the best, better than all the rest! Tina Turner is amazingly smashing, hot and beautiful at 73 years old. Seriously, we could go on for an hour with adjectives to describe just how amazing we think she is. We all know her story and in it her remarkable rise and triumphs! Just looking at her pictures makes us extremely happy and makes us want to dance, and hear her beautiful voice! That voice! That signature honey-blonde shag! Those legs! That smile!

It seems this is her first-ever Vogue cover and it says it all …Simply the best!

The day to wear green or be pinched or experience another form of small physical pain. Is there another day which “dictates” what color we wear? Is there any other day with a tremendous influence on our color choice when choosing an outfit for such an informal occasion? None we can think of. Last night we stayed up late watching movies (Playing For Keeps, Bourne Legacy and Taken 2), drinking wine (Merlot and Gewuratraminer) and eating Dove ice cream bars. This morning we woke up to find we had lost an hour. We shook our head at the loss of time because we got a self-imposed late start to the day filled with lots of to-do items. At times, it is remarkably easy to miss the “good.” Doesn’t take us long to realize our selfish behavior, though. Yes, we’ve lost an hour, but look at what we’re about to gain!!!  Spring!

To get to Spring, we’ll push the clock forward every time!

This love fest seems to ignore with blatant disregard the independent, the many not wrapped and entangled in love with another. The stores are conspicuous  and the media offensively noisy.

If you are without the sometimes messy love relationship, we shout “deeply love yourself!” You are entitled to tap into the undying love which starts within you as it does for those of us intertwined in abounding love with another.  Don’t be left out of this ubiquitous celebration before it fades away with the turn of the minute hand on the clock – barge in, intrude by loving yourself. If you are contentedly single or not by choice per se, love yourself. Go against de rigueur of this festivity and buy something for yourself, treat yourself, pick out your own flowers and delight in you!

My sister recently turned me on to the Clarins HydraQuench Serum – about four weeks ago. It works wonders to allow moisturizer to effortlessly seep into the skin. Try it and you’ll say WOW! Furthermore, if you could see her, you’ll say Wow!  She is a longtime, loyal Clarins user and looks simply amazing and more than amazing! So, imagine my excitement when I learned about the release of the Clarins Double Serum! And I thought the HydraQuench Serum was miraculous – this new supercharged Double Serum must be ridiculously miraculous! Not sure about the anti-aging aspect but since it’s made of 20 pure plant extracts, pardon the redundancy but I must say it again, 20 pure plant extracts it must be something good! No, great!!!

I love the no-rub Clarins application technique. Just rub products in hands and pat onto face. The Gently Foaming cleanser is something to rave about, as well. It leaves my skin feeling cleaner than other products I’ve tried and a little goes a loonnnnng way! It should last about 8 months! Imagine that!

Unsweetened almond milk in a beer mug. Yes, indeed! Notice the tangerines, the healthier option, in the background. Why do I rebel, at times? A bowl of apples (next to the tangerines but not captured in the picture) was ignored, as well. Maybe later.

On another related topic …healthy meals! Sushi is healthy. Maybe not the best food in the beginning stages of sculpting long and lean legs when the sushi rice is considered but certainly fewer calories than lobster risotto and rice pudding!

Piled high on top of this book is our intention to make sushi at home. We have had the book for almost 3 years and each time we glance at it we reaffirm our intention.  Take a look inside…

Most recently we have begun to question ourselves asking “Why haven’t we rolled a roll, yet? Glad to note we’ve changed our affirmation from “One Day” to “Soon! Soon!” and to “Sushi and Wine Party!” Many times better! Definitely positive steps back to healthy living and fulfilled intentions.

Spring and summer will be here soon and I (me, not him) have to make the time to work out. Time to tone and lengthen my legs – get them shorts skirts ready! On top of all that, conjure the will power to resist certain delicious foods for other kinds of delicious food. Some days the thought of peeling a tangerine seems laborious even though I know they are yummy! I would start tonight but Scandal is scheduled at 10pm. Perhaps, after.

Maybe if I continue staring at Naomi Campbell’s amazing legs, I’ll put my sneakers on. Or, even better, sleep with my sneakers on so when I wake up, I’ll have no choice but to begin exercising while I brush my teeth. Yep, sounds like a good plan to

get busy!
