Some weekends fly by and can feel like we missed them, even though, we were in it the entire time. Like this weekend. We know we did not work one “BIG” bit, only a tiny bit and we know we ate tons of frozen yogurt to stay cool and to indulge. On Friday, we ate too many ounces. We ate caramel, cake batter, pomegranate, chocolate, cafe latte flavors with a ridiculous amount of toppings which sadly might have defeated the purpose of a healthy dessert. Why are tempting and unhealthy toppings offered with a healthy dessert, anyway? We managed to include some healthy toppings such as strawberries, kiwi, almonds, cashews and pretzels. The not so healthy were Oreo cookies pieces, chocolate covered raisins and sprinkles!!! Yesterday, we traveled about 15 miles to try a new “to us” spot and the yogurt was delicious! We had nutella and dark chocolate flavors!!! Delicious “homemade” yogurt – thick and cold. It was soooo good we were saying to ourselves, we never need ice cream, again, and that we can commit to the delicious option of yogurt! And its wonderful health benefits, of course – it increases digestion and boosts the immune system. Truthfully, can we totally eliminate ice cream for frozen yogurt? While we would love to commit especially for the health benefits, we will most likely not. We love warm apple pies and we cannot imagine pulling one out of the oven to eat with yogurt??? Just not the same.
The weekend was not just filled with the over-indulgence of yogurt but it sure was a great way to spend some of it!
