Winning Gold at the Olympic games at 16 years of age must feel wonderfully amazing!!!
Congratulations Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas!

We know you worked hard and that cannot be ignored!
Twenty-seven year old Michael Phelps won his 22nd Olympic medal (of which 18 are Gold) … you are legendary! We hear you roar!

King in the water!

Spectacular! Thank-you!
You’re welcome and thank you! We hope you’re having a great day!
I do appreciate what those young people have gone through to get where they are, but I also wonder about a lost youth.
When we think of lost youth, Michael Jackson enters our mind and perhaps, his case is one of the worst cases. He was pushed into it! In Gabby’s case, she sought gymnastics, she asked her mother to send her away …that is destiny in our opinion. She is already wealthy which paints her future bright, we only hope she is happy always! Lost youth is definitely possible, we only hope for no regrets.
And yet we have laws here that say people under the age of 17 are minors and can’t make decisions on their own. Therefore, a parent has to be involved, so I’m not so sure it’s destiny, if one believes in destiny that is.
We agree her parents had to give the green light but when we look at where Gabby is today, at her greatness, we are pretty sure it is her destiny to reign in this way. Parents can instruct their kids to pursue what the parents have determined but not all kids end up at the top, not all are determined and not all are successful within what they have pursued. Yes, the parents play a part in the lives of minors but the parents, too, have to fall into the course destined for their child’s greatness.
It took me a while to realize that the second photo of Gabby was NOT photoshopped to make it look like she was over water. Silly, I know, but I think the swimming pics below put me in the mind of water with white waves and splashes….rather than chalk on a blue mat! I need my coffee.
There are days when balance is off and we understand! Happens to all of us from time to time! Hope the coffee worked!
Fully recovered, thanks!
That’s good news!
