Eyes On The Holidays

It’s time to put our eyes on the holidays.

Time to make and gather lists of the wants and desires of our loved ones. Our little one, handed us her list of wants and desires today, we nearly fainted and flattened our faces on the floor. It’s time to decide on decorations. Will you make your own wreath? Time to take the pictures. Time to mail the cards. Time to create the menu. It can seem as if many holiday-related items are demanding our attention, so many things to be completed. It can become stressful if we let it but we won’t.  We will simply do one thing at a time.

Baking cookies and making Ghiradelli white chocolate peppermint bark is exciting us. So much so, we might do them this month just for us to eat and then again on Christmas Eve for friends and family (and us, again). Why not? ‘Tis the season! We can just hear the music playing and the wood crackling in the fireplace.

Are your eyes on the holidays?

Hurricane Sandy victims you are in our prayers and we hope the holidays find you restored.

Keeping Warm

How are you keeping warm, your insides that is?

We love teas and sometimes, a hot chocolate drink. We seldom indulge in coffee and espresso drinks. Fresh peppermint leaves boiled in a pot of hot water is wonderful. Add a few drops of honey or agave or brown sugar to your tea-cup and get ready for delicious! Bay leaves are not a bad option, either – and if boiled in a pot with pure cocoa (yes, the log of pure cocoa), the drink will be something delightful. Boil fresh orange peel and sweeten to taste! The quick and easy is to grab a box of tea bags. There are so many flavors to choose from and they are all pretty delicious. We spend a long time in the tea aisle in the grocery store. Perhaps, too long. We are pretty sure the security has missed a lot of shoplifting by keeping the security camera on us wondering what we are doing. Wondering why we must pick up a box of each tea flavor. Wondering why our little one is running and skipping up and down the aisle to pass the time. Wondering why we cheer her on and tell her she runs super fast, we are totally impressed with her endurance and how high she can jump without a trampoline – but she needs to stop. Wondering how we can expect her spend the time watching us read and discuss boxes of teas. Wondering why we were surprised she decided to play with the fresh coffee beans from the dispenser beside her. Wondering why we gave her a high-five and kisses for reminding us coffee beans clears the nasal passage so a person can smell new fragrances when buying a new perfume. Wondering why we all smelled the coffee beans in her little hands. Wondering why her dad is chasing her down the aisle and the mom has to quickly grab just one more box of tea bags – just because.

Our favorite off-the-grocery-store-shelf tea bags at the moment is Chai Spice Black Tea by Stash. Soooo good! We have not over-indulged that flavor, yet, so there are plenty more happy mornings to yank the string so the bag releases all the delicious flavor and the steam soothe our faces.

Whatever you do, keep your insides warm! It’s cold out there!

Have a great weekend!
