Wow! Mary Katrantzou wows,
again! Not only are her silhouettes extraordinarily beautiful like a peacock but the designs on her fabrics are equally breathtaking. She is a Photoshop expert and we are amazed by her talent to use everyday objects and perfectly position them in the cut of a design. Who else can ask women to wear pantsuits with large horizontal bands of tulips or a dress using the design of the Faberge jeweled egg or even a dress with a typewriter sitting on the chest? What allows this phenomenon is the mere beauty of her garments; both the silhouettes and the designs of her fabrics which at times play wonderful tricks with the eyes. This year, we wondered how she would surprise us, how can the collection be different than the others and then we saw it …the gorgeous knitwear – and like the ubiquitous Rachel Zoe, “I die!” While knitwear was a part of a previous collection, it seems she continued it in this collection and it amazes. Mary Katrantzou is fantastically imaginative and daring! A great fashion recipe!
Take a look at her collection here and tell us which one is your favorite piece? If you can choose just one, of course!
