We Are Standing In Awe …

We are often asked about the name of our company, WASIA. “What does it mean?” They ask.

It is of the Swahili language, we say. Then we define.

wasia noun, testament, will

Then we explain — we are fashioning our lives to be a testament of the power of colossal faith (way bigger than a mustard seed), of perseverance and of honorable, passionate labor – and of the strength in standing after each fall. We know we are fortunate and blessed to be here – together – doing things we love, with love and care. Each day we wake up and each moment we remember to remember to be grateful, we realize…

…not of ourselves but of God’s grace and power in our lives and in this universe. Ever wonder how the moon hangs in the sky or how the earth yields new life? We do and even then we then find We Are Standing In Awe of the miracle and goodness which surrounds us. This we say is why our logo is our interpretation of the earth.

Then they say, “Ohhhh, now we get it!”

Bigger Than Big!

This is an amazing platform, WordPress, and others like it. It allows us all to communicate, share our dreams, desires, dislikes, likes, favorite items, favorite foods and ourselves. It gives us a space to be intimate with as little (or more) exposure as we each choose. What it has provided is a place to make friends and unexpected connections. It crosses the borders of countries and continents and we are all able to meet, chat, see and read into the lives of one another. And before long we are all needing one another! Needing the next exciting dish to cook for dinner or the next read which lets us all know we are not alone in this big world going through happy times or trying times or the only one gasping for air beneath the many hats we all wear. We learn from one another that love is real and it exists and we are all entitled to a share. We learn there are dark places in other places and the only remedies are perseverance, optimism and unwavering faith – just as you suspected in your part of the world. We learn there is freedom in sharing and the pair of boots we dream about does exist. We need each other not in the way we need oxygen but in the way we need the phone to ring after a spectacular, first date or the way we need there to be water at the beach or in the way there must be salt in the stew. And soon we more than need each other but we “Like” each other – over and over again. Today, we were notified we received 1,000 likes …from all of you!!!!

Please know we like you, too! We genuinely do! And we thank you all for visiting us here each day since the first day we began this blog earlier this year, only a few months ago. You have become our special guests – and we enjoy having you here with us. As big as this platform is, we thank you bigger than that!

Inspiration

Inspiration can be found anywhere in all shapes,

  – sizes and in unexpected things. Most times, it is not pursued but rather, it pursues.

This shot was inspired by the talented photographer, Raoul Brown, of Raoul Brown Photography.

The gazebo was sitting pretty and it was the first time we had a clear shot – except for the man on the phone who would not move. We shot it anyway for if we waited longer, more people would appear. It is rarely unpopulated. We just had to take the shot.

We love good food! Need we say more!

What inspired you?
